Tesco this week started selling broadband internet access in the UK. The supermarket group is offering a 512-kilobyte, unlimited broadband service for 19.97 pounds (US$36) per month. The retailer said that its offer was cheaper than established providers and had no restrictions on the amount of data downloaded. Tesco already offers slower, dial-up internet access and has also launched packages for fixed-line and mobile phone calls over the past year.
