NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. chain store retail sales rose in the latest week, a report said on Tuesday.

Sales rose by 0.3 percent in the week ended October 2, compared with a 0.3 percent decline in the previous week, the International Council of Shopping Centers and UBS said in a joint report. Compared with the same week a year ago, sales slowed to a rise of 2.6 percent from the 3.5 percent rise the preceding week.
